The Esse 100SE is a traditional design stove that has been given DEFRA approval to burn wood in a smoke control zone. Featuring Esse’s ‘Afterburn’ technology to boose efficiency and yet keep the slim profile of the stove.
Made from steel and cast iron, the 100SE is wide and yet slim which means it can suit fireplaces that are not particularly deep. The 100SE can be installed on a 12mm hearth meaning it can be located where there isn’t a fireplace or existing hearth. Available in either single or double door versions.

The Esse 100 is also available without DEFRA approval for non-smoke control zones.

Why we like it

The Esse 100SE and 125SE have one of the largest viewing windows of a stove in this output range. The build quality from Esse is great and we like the door detailing in particular. For shallow fireplaces this stove really fits the bill and boasts an envial efficiency rating.
